Part-time Employment of a Foreign Student
Under the Work
Permit (Exemption)(Consolidation) Notification 2002, a
full-time matriculated or registered student
of the following institutions, who wishes to work for not
more than 16 hours in a week, is exempted from applying for
a work permit:
1 the National
University of Singapore
2 the Nanyang
Technological University
3 the Singapore
Management University
4 the Singapore
Polytechnic
5 the Ngee Ann
Polytechnic
6 the Temasek
Polytechnic
7 the Nanyang
Polytechnic
8 the LaSalle-SIA
College of the Arts
9 the Nanyang
Academy of Fine Arts
10 the INSEAD,
Singapore
11 the
University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in
Singapore
12 the Practice
Performing Arts School
13 the Tanglin
Trust School
The student must
obtain a letter of consent from his school.
Student Pass
holders studying in institutions other than those listed
above are not allowed to work part-time while holding
Student Passes in Singapore.
