TV Licence
TV
licence fee is S$110 per annum.
From
1998, TV licence fees are pro-rated from the date you take up a licence to
31 December of that year. For example, if a licence is taken up on 1 Jul
1998, your payment is:
TV licence for 6 months = S$55 @S$110 per annum.
Application for a licence can be made at any post office by cash or
crossed cheque/money order payable to Singapore Post Private Ltd. For
verification purposes, please bring along your identity card or passport
when you apply for the licence. Payments can also be arranged through GIRO.
SBA GIRO forms are also available at any post office.
From
Jan 1998, SBA has also linked up with Inland Revenue Authority of
Singapore (IRAS) to collect TV licence fee together with property tax. The
link-up is introduced to provide convenience to property owners as they
need only to make one payment for two bills.
For a
licence taken up in 1998, IRAS will send a combined bill for both property
tax and TV licence fee to residential property owners from 1999 onwards.
For
tenanted properties, tenants who take up a licence in 1998 will continue
to be billed by SBA. Please notify SBA of any change in the tenant.
The
licencee has to write to SBA, Licensing Unit within 28 days when his/her
broadcast sound/television receiver(s) is/are no longer in his/her
possession or beyond repair.
